Today is the day! Join owner, Terry Robertson, and his staff in celebrating the Grand Opening of Kings Mountain Preserve and Retreat Center. Festivities begin today, Saturday October 17th, 2020 at 2:00PM, and will include an opening ceremony, champagne toast, and tours of the property.
Terry’s love of nature and his care for the dying and the bereaved inspired a dream. He wanted to develop a conservation burial ground (green cemetery) to serve Charlotte and the surrounding areas. A year ago, he fell in love with a beautiful property in Blacksburg, SC, and the vision began to take shape. Months (and many hours of sweat equity) later, it is time to celebrate the realization of this dream! Together with Robertson Funeral and Cremation service, Kings Mountain Preserve will be the east coast’s first conservation burial ground and funeral home combination. Due to the pandemic, we do ask that everyone wear a mask and practice safe social distancing while on the property. We look forward to seeing you there!

My wife and I had a great time at the grand opening. I cannot express how beautiful Kings Mountain Preserve is. Terry, and his family and staff did a great job with the green burial cemetery. He also, has a great vision of not only using it as a cemetery but a multi-function location for retreats, wedding and etc... this is a must place to go see....... 10/14/2024 03:25:48 am
Exploring the lush grounds during our tour allowed me to appreciate how beautifully designed this green cemetery is while providing visitors a peaceful haven in which to reflect on loved ones lost.
